About

I'm Matt, and every lure from The Legacy Lure Company is made by me, one at a time, in my workshop on Cape Cod.

This started in 2010, after I survived an aortic dissection. It's the kind of thing that resets everything. While I recovered and raised my two daughters, I went back to what I'd loved my whole life, fishing, and started airbrushing lures in my basement. It was therapy before it was ever a business.

For the past 11 years I've sold them on Etsy as PromoLures: more than 14,000 sales, a 5.0-star rating from over 3,000 reviews, Etsy Star Seller status, and a spot in the top 0.8% of Etsy sellers. The Legacy Lure Company is the same workshop and the same lures, with a direct way to order.

How each lure is made

I start with a quality lure body and paint it by hand with an airbrush. Your words go on as a printed decal, then the whole lure is sealed under a clear epoxy coat so it holds up, whether it ends up in a tackle box or on a shelf.

Why people order them

Almost nobody buys one of these just to go fishing. They mark something: a baby on the way, a wedding, a retirement, a sober anniversary, or someone who's gone. I take that seriously, and every lure gets a careful look before it ships.

Thanks for supporting a one-person shop. Lures for life.

Matt
